From Blueprint to Reality: Unraveling the Home Building Process
July 21, 2023
Building your dream home is an exciting and rewarding endeavor, but it can also be a complex and overwhelming process. Thankfully, with Adams Homes, your dream can become a reality. We have laid out the step-by-step journey of building a new home with Adams Homes from beginning to end, so let's get started!
Secure Financing
We have established relationships with reputable lenders, making the financing process smoother and more straightforward for you. Finding the right mortgage option that aligns with your financial situation is crucial, so do not hesitate to discuss any concerns that you have regarding your income or credit. Overlooked items or inaccurate data can cause delays or even stop the process of obtaining a loan. During the entire loan process, your loan officer will be in contact with you to provide you with information. Never hesitate to contact your Adams Homes sales representative if you have any questions or concerns.
Finalizing the Contract
With financing in place, you will then finalize the contract with Adams Homes. This agreement will detail the price, the estimated timeline, and any additional customizations you've chosen. Typically, your home will take around 6-8 months to be built. Very rarely though we may come across obstacles that could extend this timeline. Our Move-In Ready homes can close in just a few weeks! Make sure to review the contract carefully and ask any questions before signing!
Construction Commences
Now comes the exciting part - construction begins! Most of our lots have been prepared by the developer for the placement of concrete foundations. Adams Homes' personnel and all regulatory authorities spend a significant period of time inspecting all in-wall and framing systems to ensure a durable and long-lasting home. Our team of skilled contractors and superintendents will work diligently to ensure that everything from the roofing to plumbing, electrical and interior finishes are all met with the highest quality standards.
Final Inspection and Quality Assurance
Subsequent to the completion of construction, the site superintendent will order and receive a certificate of occupancy from the regulatory officials allowing the homeowner the right to move in. Our closing coordinator will then reach out to schedule a New Home Orientation to familiarize you with all of the features of your new home. Within approximately seven days after the orientation, and immediately before the closing, you will have a Final Walk Through. Adams Homes requires that homes be "defect free" prior to closing and will not allow the closing to occur until this is achieved.
Closing and Move-In
The big day has arrived! Once construction is complete, and all inspections and final touches are in place, you'll have a closing meeting. All closings will be scheduled in person and organized by our closing coordinator in conjunction with your lender, title, and the closing attorney's office. Congratulations, you're officially a homeowner!!
Post-Construction Support
Even after you've moved in, Adams Homes stands by our commitment to customer satisfaction. We will be available to assist you with warranty questions or issues that may arise in the early stages of homeownership. We hope you love your Adams Home as much as we loved building your dream!
